How to Apply Thermal Paste
Proper application helps ensure better heat transfer, lower temperatures, and reliable long-term performance.
Clean the Surface
Remove old thermal compound from the CPU, GPU, or heatsink using a cleaning wipe or thermal cleaner. Make sure the surface is fully clean and dry.
Apply a Small Amount
Place a small pea-sized amount of thermal paste in the center of the chip. Using too much can reduce clean application and create unnecessary overflow.
Install the Heatsink
Carefully lower the heatsink or cooler straight onto the processor. Mounting pressure will help spread the paste evenly across the contact area.
Secure Evenly
Tighten the mounting screws gradually in an even pattern to create proper contact and consistent thermal transfer.
